Airline Missile Defense

U.S. to soon start testing anti-missile lasers on passenger airliners. Designed to fool heat-seeking, shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles, the lasers will first be tested on out-of-service aircraft. If the testing is successful and the airlines are ordered to provide their fleets with them, it would probably cost the U.S. taxpayer over six billion dollars.
