FACT OF THE DAY

American guitar manufacturer Leo Fender is born today in 1909. Best known for his range of electric guitars such as the Telecaster and Stratocaster, Fender saw his instruments being used as their preferred 'axe' by some of the greatest stars of the rock era such as Buddy Holly, Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton. Ironically, Fender did not know how to play the guitar.
