Across the pond we have this story:

Charlotte's parents fail to overturn court order to let her die

THE parents of seriously-ill Charlotte Wyatt yesterday lost the latest round of their battle to overturn a court order allowing doctors not to resuscitate the 22-month-old if she stops breathing.

In the Sciavo case, we had a battle within the family as to whose wishes should be granted in the situation where the victim could not speak for herself.

In this case, there is no such family battle. The parents of a not-quite 2 year old girl only want resucitation rights in the event she stops breathing and apparently losing their battle. Where is this leading us?
