Solidarity (the anti-Communist workers movement that helped topple the Iron Curtain) is once again poised to, hopefully, take power from the Polish communists. The Polish communists have led the country into steep economic decline, incompetence, high unemployment and typical communist corruption. They have controlled the country's parliament since 1993; but it looks like that may change in the upcoming (Sunday) parliamentary elections. Their presidential elections will follow in two weeks. Stronger ties with the U.S. are expected to follow - if the elections go the way it appears they will go. Let's hope for the best.
