Good news in Lebanon

Government takes strong anti-Syrian, anti-Iranian actions.

The Lebanese government appears serious in its bid to seek justice in the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri and prevent another bid by neighboring Syria to take control of the country.

Information on Syrian plans to return to meddling in Lebanese affairs, drawing the brittle country once again to the verge of disaster, reached the top political establishment of Lebanon through diplomatic channels.

According to some Lebanese officials, friendly nations have promised immediate help if moves against remnants of the Syrian intelligence arouse threats and hostile moves from Damascus.

At this stage it seems Lebanon is ready for a confrontation with her so-called senior sister – Syria. This will be possible as long as western friends, with the U.S. at the top, continue to support Lebanese moves to challenge Damascus and to tell Syria in so many words: "Stay out and stay away from Lebanon."
