This is for You, Anotmo

This is quite relevant to your comment on my post about Marine Gunnery Sgt. Michael Burghardt in which you stated these are the true heroes but the left holds up the Cindy Sheehans of the world as "heroes."

Code Pink Praises Murtha, Picketed Military Hospital
(CNSNews.com)
The anti-war group "Code Pink: Women for Peace" is thanking Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) on its website for his "courageous stand on Iraq." The group recently presented Murtha its "pink badge of courage" for his anti-war activism...Read on.
(Emphasis mine - HH)

HeavyHanded: Now, just in case some lefty is waiting out there, lurking, and ready to pounce on me about Murtha...yes, I know he is a decorated Viet Nam veteran. This is not about that. This is about calling someone, anyone, courageous for moving their mouth. Pull...easeeeeeeeeeeeee..............!

Two other points: First, I have the utmost respect and gratitude to anyone who has spent time in the armed forces of the U.S. But, it does not give them a lifetime pass on being dumb or wrong. They are still capable of saying and doing dumb things.

You are quick to attack and denigrate the armed forces and show little respect, if not contempt for them, like picketing a military hospital, but then slander anyone who says anything negative about "your war heroes" like Murtha and John Kerry (who served in Viet Nam, ya' know).

Wrong is wrong and right is right, whether you are a war hero or not. Even though there is some speculation about Murtha and his medals, much like Kerry and his, I will not go there.

As I said, wrong is wrong, as in the case of Republican Congressman Randy "Duke" Cunningham who screwed up big time and was a hotshot Viet Nam war fighter pilot.

Wrong is wrong. No passes.

  • Perfect!

And yet another example, (Cunningham), of how conservatives will criticize our own. I am still waiting for a similar example from liberals.

  • One other point. It is not 'couragious' to exercise your freedoms. It is'couragious to defend and protect them.
