Avian Flu: A Media Pandemic

Doing what they do best, the media is overhyping the "bird flu." They got as much mileage as they could out of the SARS scare. You don't hear anything about that anymore, do you? That's so yesterday.

Avian flu has taken millions of lives around the world – lives of birds. Human deaths have been extremely rare, and experts say it’s not time to panic, but network reporters continue to advertise the virus as “deadly” on repeated broadcasts."
