Dubai deal is dead

Now that the Dubai terminal (no, not ports) deal is dead, I wonder if our grandstanding legislative leaders in Washington will seek to terminate all foreign ownership of any and all terminals in the United States. How far are they willing to take this, in the name of homeland security?

I am as concerned about our security as the next guy. But as I posted before, are we not overlooking the obvious? If something dangerous reaches our ports, it's too late. Shouldn't we be looking at strengthening security measures prior to these containers reaching our ports?

The obvious answer is yes. Our "heroes" in Washington have access to much information that we don't, and so, in theory, are in a better position to make informed decisions about matters such as this. Unfortunately, I have zero confidence that most (many?) (any?) have done their due diligence. Evidence of this is their initial immediate knee-jerk reaction to the deal, then the pushing for a 45 day review, and then a rush to judgment despite their wishes for this review period - not to mention the many misstatements of facts I heard coming from the mouths of our mighty white knights in shining armor.
