MORE ON IRAN

You will be seeing a lot more being reported here on Iran as I believe things are coming to a head with Iran. As I mentioned in an earlier post, there are a few things to consider. First and foremost of course is Iran's ambitions to obtain a nuclear capacity; something we cannot afford to let happen. Any clear thinking person should be able to decipher the difference between a responsible democratic government with no ambition to invade its neighbors having nuclear weapons, versus a rogue country that wants to, and threatens to, wipe countries off the map, while they use tyrannical force to beat down their citizens.

Secondly, is the maintaining of a balance of power between Iraq and Iran which we have done for decades so that neither has an upper hand and can run rough shod over the other. I doubt that we are going to abandon this principle. Since Iraq has been weakened militarily, it will be quite awhile before they can adequately defend themselves against an invading Iran. And we are not going to be in Iraq for an indefinite period of time. What better way to maintain this "balance of power" with a weakened Iraq, then to make Iran into a weakened state as well.

While protecting ourselves by taking out their nuke program we can accomplish this re-balancing of power as well.
