  • Yes, all well and good. Let us hope that this time the U.N. follows through. If I doubt that they will, then I expect that Iran believes they will not.

    At least this time there does not appear to be any embarassing covert contraband in country that certain permanent members need worry about.

  • I see it only as a starting point and perhaps a necessary one for the U.S.

    Beyond that, I am afraid it will be toothless like everything else in the past that the UN has gotten involved in.

    While I agree that their does not appear to be "any embarassing covert contraband", my cynical side (and for better or worse, I am a large cynic) tells me that China and Russia have too much invested in Iran, to be of any real help in this matter; not the least of which is that Iran with nukes is just another counterbalance (in their eyes) to U.S. imperialism.

  • China and Russia have both had their own run ins with Islamic Fundamentalists. It may be true that they don't want to further empower the US but what power are the forgoing to a country that is looking to harm them as well.
