Lieberman: We must act against Iran

"Israel needs to mostly act, and to talk less," Israel Beiteinu head Avigdor Lieberman said on Monday morning.

Lieberman, whose party garnered 11 mandates in the March 28 Knesset election, was a candidate for the Internal Security Minister post in the new government. The Movement for Quality Government, however, recently called on Attorney General Menahem Mazuz to block his appointment to the post.

Israel cannot rely on Europe or the United States, Lieberman said in an interview to Israel Radio.

Lieberman called Europe weak, lazy and confused, and said that its actions today reminded him of the way it acted during the 1930s when it was unable to stop Adolf Hitler.

He concluded that Israel could not rely on others when it came to national security. He stressed that Israel must be able to independently fight for its existence. More...
