The Iraq Campaign of the War on Terror

We have done a terrible job explaining the relationship of the "war" in Iraq to the war against the perpetrators of 9/11. Yet they are related. I use "war" in quotes because Iraq is more correctly a campaign in the war against al-Qaida, and this distinction is key to understanding the relationship.

Our primary strategic objective in this war was to prevent further mass-casualty terrorist attacks in the United States and its first campaign was Afghanistan. Read on.
