Any effort to logically analyze the views being expressed by both the Left and far too many on the Right regarding immigration is simply doomed to failure. There is no logic to what they are saying but they apparently think we are too dense to see that. What is going on in their heads and what is coming out of their mouths are totally and transparently different. The real issue from their perspective is not how to control immigration, legal or otherwise. The real issue to them is how to get more and more immigrants to vote for them. They are, therefore, not at all interested in stopping illegal immigration. To the contrary, they want it to continue and they want those immigrants to be able to vote. All of the nonsense rhetoric is to insure that those immigrants vote for them without alienating their current voting base.

This issue illustrates perfectly what politics is all about. Trying to get your arms wrapped around this political issue is about the same as trying to get your arms wrapped around a greased pig.
And just as dirty.
There are some in the House that actually would like to get something done on the immigration issue. I really don't know if there is anyone in the Senate that truly does.
You cannot believe much of what they speak. So you are right Anotmo, it defies logic and is an exercise in futility to try and analyze their positions, or motives for that matter.
