Amnesia on Israel

Iran's President Ahmadinejad doesn't think the Holocaust actually happened and he wants Israel wiped off the map of the world. He claims that European countries created Israel after World War II by dumping into Palestine survivors of the Holocaust, in which, illogically, he doesn't believe.
Ahmadinejad has got historical amnesia. The League of Nations recognized the right of Jews to form their own state in the 1920s, confirming Britain's Balfour Declaration of 1917. In 1947 the United Nations actually voted for two states in Palestine, Arab and Jewish. The Jews accepted this vote but the Arabs didn't.
Iran is a recognized member state of the United Nations. So is Israel. It's quite without precedent for one member state to call publicly for the elimination of another. What have you got to say about that, Mr. Kofi Annan?
