RIGHT TO PRIVACY WHEN IT ONLY SUITS US

How can the Left and the Democrats wail about violating our rights to privacy when they lambast our efforts to stop terrorists through measures like The Patriot Act, NSA and then turn around and see nothing wrong with this?
