WHO SAID IT ?
"The bad news is that there are 816 days left in the reign of King George II of America.
The good news? 'When we wake up tomorrow morning, there will be one less day. . . .
If Americans knew the full extent of U.S. criminal conduct, they would receive returning Iraqi veterans as they did Vietnam veterans.
In Vietnam, our soldiers came back and they were reviled as baby killers, in shame and humiliation. It isn't happening now, but I will tell you--there has never been an [American] army as violent and murderous as our army has been in Iraq."
If you said John Kerry, you would be wrong. But it would have been one helluva' guess. Who could fault for your effort in that one? If you said the bloviating senior senator from Massachusetts, Teddy "The Swimmer" Kennedy, again you would be wrong, but an equally fine guess.
Nope, not Dick "The Turbin" Durban. Not "Howlin Howie" Dean. Fine guesses both. No. No. Not Mr. "Redeploy to Okinawa" Murtha. All fine guesses. Trouble is, the list is too long. There are too many Dems one could have chosen for the answer, and they all would have been reasonable guesses. And they all would have been wrong.
In this case, it was not a Democrat politician. It was the ever compliant and faithful Democratic mouth piece ..... old stream media .... specifically writer and "investigative reporter," Seymour Hersch of The New Yorker. Seymour was giving a speech recently at a university in Montreal when he smeared our troops. Disgusting piece of trash-talking from our anti-military media. Read it here.
UPDATE: Ray Robison, over at the American Thinker, takes on Mr. Hersch.
