Hezbollah Welcomes Korean Troops

"Korean troops headed for United Nations peacekeeping duty in Lebanon have received a conditional welcome from Hezbollah. It's the first time Hezbollah has made an official statement on Korean troop participation in U.N. peacekeeping operations in southern Lebanon.

An official from Hezbollah told a Korean news agency his organization is ready to cooperate with Korean troops if they work with Lebanese troops to protect the country from Israeli attacks.

The official said, however, that Korean troops will not be welcome if they go beyond their duties, and warned against intervening in the movement to disarm Hezbollah."
