N. Korea Says Hill Talks Produced `Certain Agreement'
"North Korea said talks between its Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye Gwan and chief U.S. nuclear negotiator Christopher Hill this week to prepare for new six- nation talks reached ``a certain agreement.''
The two days of discussions in Berlin took place in a ``positive and sincere atmosphere and a certain agreement was reached there,'' the official Korean Central News Agency reported, citing a Foreign Ministry spokesman as saying today. Hill and Kim tried to ``settle knotty problems in resolving the nuclear issue,'' KCNA said without giving any details.
Hill said today he wasn't sure what the spokesman was referring to when he spoke of an agreement. The positive tone of the KCNA report reflects that the meeting was useful, he said on arrival in the South Korean capital, Seoul. Hill travels to Japan Jan. 20 and China the following day." Read on...
