Military Officials: Sadr's Gone from Iraq

Military officials in Baghdad have confirmed that Shi'ite militia leader Muqtada al-Sadr has indeed left Iraq, and they say his departure is a positive sign for the rule of law within the country. "Sadr is definitely not in Iraq," Maj. Gen. B.William Caldwell IV, senior Multi-National Force-Iraq spokesman, told Cybercast News Service this week from Baghdad. "He is out of the country right now. All indications are that he is in fact in Iran, and we know that he's been out of the country since last month. We have acknowledged that we watch his movements pretty closely and we know what he's doing," he said. Full Story
