COMMENTARY

When Americans become too overwhelmed to even express dismay at any one particular outrage being perpetrated by the Democrats, it is time to step back and examine the “bigger picture.” In the wake of Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s trip to the Middle East, America clearly finds itself at just such a juncture. Ultimately, this situation and its diplomatic consequences, abominable though they may be, should not be treated as an isolated example from a madcap leftist fringe. Rather, they should be considered in the context of liberalism’s long-standing assault on the American ideal.

The problem with this war, actually every war since Korea, in my opinion, is propaganda. When we were fighting the Nazi's, the Japanese and commies, we had posters up everywhere. Everything that we did in our personal lives was helping the cause, from farming to car pooling to working in factories was covered in those old posters. Not only was what citizens were doing in the private sector covered, we were reminded that the enemy wasn't stupid: There's one poster from WWII with paratroopers falling out of the sky dead with the caption, "Careless talk got there first."
I think that we all need to be reminded of the bad ass country we are once in a while and the fact that the enemy, no matter which one it is can pick up satelite TV for christ sake.
Here's a link to that poster:

Good point Dave.
Of course, it would be nice to have a world without war.
But that is really a little "pollyanish" you might say. Man has been fighting and warring since .... well since man existed.
I don't see an end to this. What we have to do is to "choose the 'right' fight", whatever the hell that is and then be, as you point out, COMMITTED to it.
We lack that commitment and resolve. Our enemies, yours and mine, do not.
Someone who wants to kill you, your children, and your friends, preferrably by some gruesome method, in order to send a message and to strike fear and terror into you, will not stop their quest because you gave them a loaf of bread.
Propaganda IS a big part of war, and has been going on for a long time, well before Korea.
WWII and Tokyo Rose come to mind as one example.
The difference of course is that now with 24/7 communications, satellite as you mentioned, it can reach a much bigger audience and instantly.
