"I find it interesting that the left is so concerned about carbon footprints. What about humanitarian footprints? What sort of tree do you plant as penance for turning your back on 24 million people?"

-- Don Surber

Excellent question, Don. Excellent. (Hat tip to James Taranto.)

The weeping willow might be appropriate.

  • A timely post H-H as it serves to allow me to comment on an episode last night between Alan Colmes and Bill Bennett. In it Alan Colmes actually stated that he was proud of the Lefts efforts vis-à-vis Vietnam and actually said that it had not fallen to the Communists! Upon Bennetts’ expression of disbelieve, Colmes' response was to ask, 'isn't there capitalism now in Vietnam?'. As if any small degree of capitalism acceded to in the interests of surviving the inadequacies of Communism somehow nullifies the fundamental Communist nature of that country. By that ‘reasoning’, China is not a Communists country.

More significantly, neither Bennett nor, of course, Colmes ever addressed the millions of South Vietnamese, Laotian and Cambodian lives lost after and due to our abandonment of the South Vietnamese people. The Left continues to ignore the horrific consequences of their actions and the Right continues to allow them to do so.
