Some Fort Worth Students Protest

There are 613 high school seniors from the Fort Worth area who did not pass the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) exam.

They can take the test again in July, but for now, and unless they pass the exam on their second attempt, they are non-graduates.

Unlike some other school districts, the Fort Worth Independent School District has decided to bar students who failed the TAKS exam from participating in the commencement ceremonies. This has riled up some students.

And, it has inspired some to protest - and to picket. Here is a photo of a few protesters. Look at the sign being held up by a picketer.
(Shaking head slowly and with pained expression.)"Let are kids walk."
(****SIGH****)
