Ups and Downs on Wall Street Send Journalists Panicking

The media worried about “Armageddon,” “recession” and market “crashing” last week in reporting on the “credit crunch” and mortgage defaults. CNBC’s Jim Cramer ranted that the Fed needed to cut interest rates and NBC’s Meredith Vieira asked if “Black Monday” was coming. It was a bumpy ride for viewers, too – hearing hype from one journalist and then a rational perspective from another. Read on.
