Being a governor has always been a stepping stone to the presidency. It’s just a thought, but perhaps people are less confident in their governors these days because so many of them are leaving their states ever deeper in debt. The National Governors Association just finished its winter meeting in Washington, D.C., and managed to ignore the crisis most common to their states -- overextended budgets and ballooning deficits. So what did the National Governors Association discuss? “Reinforcing the role of states in advancing a clean energy future for America.”
