Myth of Consensus Explodes: APS Opens Global Warming Debate
DailyTech
The American Physical Society, an organization representing nearly 50,000 physicists, has reversed its stance on climate change and is now proclaiming that many of its members disbelieve in human-induced global warming. The APS is also sponsoring public debate on the validity of global warming science. The leadership of the society had previously called the evidence for global warming "incontrovertible."

Google it. I don't think there is any such organization by that name.

Um, yeh, there is:http://www.aps.org/
Also see wikipedia

American_Physical_Society
which says:
"The American Physical Society was founded in 1899 and is the world's second largest organization of physicists, behind the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft. The Society publishes more than a dozen science journals, including the world renowned Physical Review and Physical Review Letters, and organizes more than twenty science meetings each year."

Looks like the APS head council responded to this story by disavowing the actions and statements of their own editors. Check their home page and the P&S page ... seems like this story has caused a huge amount of infighting in the organization.

Yes, it has caused quite a stir in the blogosphere as well.
Seems to me we are now at the level of "he said, she said." ;)
