More Back Taxes Added To The Coffers

"Thursday, it came to light that the husband of Labor secretary nominee Hilda Solis paid more than $6,000 this week to clear up a tax lien going back 16 years. It seems that the only way to get Democrats to pay their taxes is by nominating them or their spouses for the Obama cabinet." -- The Patriot Post

From voices.washingtonpost.com:
A Senate committee today abruptly canceled a session to consider President Obama's nomination of Rep. Hilda Solis to be labor secretary in the wake of a report saying that her husband yesterday paid about $6,400 to settle tax liens against his business -- including liens that had been outstanding for as long as 16 years.

The report, by USA Today, came just before the Senate's Health Education Labor and Pensions Committee was slated to meet to consider Solis's nomination, which had been delayed by questions over her role on the board of the pro-labor organization American Rights at Work. A source said that committee members did not learn about the tax issue until today. [Read the rest]

As I posted three days ago:
Obama has been in office for only a couple of weeks and has already increased tax receipts at the U.S. Treasury with a rather ingenious plan to get tax-dodgers to pay up.

He nominates wealthy individuals (who have knowingly filed inaccurate tax forms, cheating the government out of "mucho" dollars) for positions in his cabinet. They then get out their checkbooks and pay their back taxes (without penalty and interest, of course). Well what do you expect? They are elitists. But, hey, the government gets what is "rightly owed" them.

Slick, huh?

Chuckle. Chuckle. Another tax dodger goes scurrying into the night:
Obama performance chief Killefer out, citing taxes.

So let's see, it's been Geitner, Daschle, Killefer, and now Solis. Did I miss anyone? Does anyone pay taxes anymore?

I am beginning to think all in Congress should undergo an immediate tax audit (Dems and Repubs), along with all in the administration, and all cabinet nominees. Let's see the rats scurry.
