Pelosi Asks Fellow Democrats to Cut the Budget Fat
In a Feb. 19 letter to House committee chairs, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi sounded a call for “fiscal discipline.” She asked the Democratic committee chairs to schedule oversight hearings to examine the budgets of federal agencies that fall under their jurisdiction – “to help achieve deficit reduction and long-term fiscal responsibility."
