U.S. alerts Americans after rise in attacks on Western tourists in Egypt

CAIRO — The United States has warned Americans to be vigilant following a wave of attacks on Westerners in Egypt.

The embassy said Westerners in Cairo have been targeted by unidentified Islamic attackers. The assaults began on Feb. 22 when a bomb exploded near a group of Westerners in a Cairo market frequented by tourists.
