This is unprecedented but what can they do when their economy is going down?

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
But, I am sorry, I must admit, that I don't understand your comment -- at all.
THEIR economy? How about OUR economy?
And yes, the economy is going down. That's the point. When business's are failing, when business's are laying off, when unemployment is reaching close to double digits, when people are losing 40-50% of their life's savings and their retirement funds, why should it be life as usual in Washington D.C.?
Why shouldn't they have their wages frozen ... no increase ... until the economy recovers?
It is the right thing to do and should be embraced by every elected official, every Senator and every Congressman/woman without exception.
And as far as what can they do? For starters, they can quit spending money like there is no tomorrow.
They can stop the printing presses from printing money 24/7 (this is going to cause massive inflation down the road if they don't); they can lower taxes and raise interest rates which are at insane rates at present; and, they can quit trying to regulate every segment of our economy and let it operate naturally.

Hi Heavy I understand your point really well though I have to disagree on some points. I'll perk up my list and come back to you soon. Thanks!
