New Move in Plamegate Investigation

The US prosecutor leading the inquiry into the leaking of the identity of a CIA agent says the case will involve fresh proceedings before a grand jury.

Patrick Fitzgerald is investigating whether the White House deliberately revealed the name of Valerie Plame.

The inquiry has already led to the indictment of former vice-presidential aide Lewis Libby on perjury charges.

Mr Fitzgerald's statement that he is working with a new grand jury could mean he is planning more charges.

The term of the last grand jury expired last month.
