(aka The Enemy) located overseas. Deliberately mislabeled by the Leftmedia as "domestic spying," this program's sole purpose is "to detect and prevent attacks," according to General Michael Hayden, Deputy Director of National Intelligence. His remarks, delivered at the National Press Club last week, were a strong rebuttal of the program's critics. General Hayden also explained what the program is not, saying, "It is not a driftnet over Dearborn or Lackawanna or Fremont, grabbing conversations that we then sort out by these alleged keyword searches or data-mining tools... This is targeted and focused." General Hayden also pointed out that he, personally, had briefed Congress about the program over a dozen times.
