Saudis plot Syria coup
Tensions between Assad, Riyadh reach new high
"When Bashar Assad, the second-generation dictator of Syria, gave a speech blasting Arab leaders for failing to support Hezbollah in its war with Israel, the primary target of his wrath was clear - Saudi Arabia.
But that speech - along with Assad's other slights of the kingdom -- may soon backfire on Damascus.
According to G2B's Mideast intelligence sources, the Saudis have made a decision Assad must go.
It wasn't just Assad's reference to the unnamed Arab leaders as 'half-men' that got to Saudis. A rift has been growing since Assad succeeded his father, Hafez, in 2000."
