Jerusalem - Palestinians fired five Kassam rockets from the Gaza Strip at Israel on Tuesday despite an Israeli-Palestinian ceasefire and a weekend meeting of Israeli and Palestinian leaders. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert agreed to a number of "confidence-building measures" when he met with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday evening. The meeting followed weeks of international diplomatic activity intended to promote the Olmert-Abbas meeting in an effort to strengthen Abbas, who is considered by the current Israeli government to be a Palestinian "moderate."
