INTELLIGENCE IS NEVER OUT OF STYLE

"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance."

(Cicero, in 55 BC)

....... but common sense is often times elusive.

  • The House GOP could make legislation that balances the budget.... but they don't?

They could and should end Bush era tax cuts (that are spending since they deflate revenue - and since trickle down failed to make adequate numbers of fair wage jobs INSIDE America) and ...

Halve the military budget - currently one in every three fed dollars spent. America will be as safe, by any metric, if we used our military to repel invaders from our shores instead of fighting endless neoconservative wars in Iraq (II), Afghanistan and elsewhere for corporate reasonings.

That saves trillions in year one.
