Bush appoints Bolton as U.N. ambassador

"President Bush sidestepped the Senate and installed embattled nominee John Bolton as ambassador to the United Nations today, ending a five-month impasse with Democrats who accused Bolton of abusing subordinates and twisting intelligence to fit his conservative ideology."

Senator Dodd said, Bolton was "damaged goods" and shouldn't be representing the United States as ambassador to the UN. So let's see, you can drag a man and his reputation through the mud, block the Senate from having an up or down vote, and then turn around and say he's damaged goods. Good Lord, Sen. Dodd, the only thing that is damaged is your brain cells.

Near as I can figure, he's only "guilty" of being a conservative, and maybe he's a "little too mean" for your liking, Mr. Dodd. Oh, and he's not the right man to "patch up" our relationships with the countries of the UN.

We don't need a group hug Mr. Dodd. The UN needs tremendous reform and even then it is extremely doubtful that it can be an effective body. Certainly, more back slapping won't do it.
