Holder's Witch Hunt
by Rep. Dan Burton
Attorney General Eric Holder’s decision to prosecute CIA personnel is an outrageous act of political theater that has the potential to significantly damage our nation’s long-term intelligence gathering capabilities. Despite the Administration’s subtle attempts to distance itself from the Justice Department’s investigation, anyone in touch with reality knows that the Attorney General could not pursue this destructive end without the President’s unmitigated support. President Obama has turned a deaf ear to the pleas of seven former CIA directors while using Mr. Holder to oblige the left’s political base. More.

Beware of the Republican Establishment - HUMAN EVENTS
Between the town hall meetings and the tea party rallies, millions of Americans are taking to the streets to protest a government gone berserk. They are angry and determined to take their country back. But there are snakes in the grass intent on using this movement to return to power, not the people, but the Republican establishment. If this happens we lose everything, including our country. More.

Networks Ignore Democrat Defeat of Immigrant ID and Their Push for Coverage of Illegals

News media covered dust-up over Joe Wilson, but not recent developments that support his claim.

Rep. Joe Wilson’s “shocking outburst” generated plenty of media attention and even accusations of racism, but it also forced the networks to talk about the possibility of illegal immigrants getting health care. But when Democrats took action to make that more likely, the networks were silent.

Julia A. Seymour at Business & Media Institute writes about it and can be read here.

Al Gore's Hand in Your Pocket

Government gambles with taxpayer money it doesn't have on a car that may never sell.

By Dan Kennedy
Business & Media Institute

Gee, wasn’t it Obama who swore to end the influence of lobbyists in government?

So we should believe that Al Gore is not a big, fat lobbyist. It is pure coincidence that the start-up electric car company Gore is invested in and backing got a $529-million U.S. government “loan” to further development of its intended super fuel-efficient hybrid cars.

The first of those cars, humorously called the Karma, will sell for about $90,000. Later the company hopes – Obama’s favorite strategy – that it will be able to build a more affordable $40,000 version, but there aren’t even any plans on the drawing board for it yet. It’s just a thought. Oh, and a bunch of the work on the car is occurring in Finland. As far as I know, Finland has not loaned them $529-million. Perhaps that’s why it’s so tough to find those jobs Obama’s stimulus saved or created – they’re in Finland.

This company, Fisker Automotive, not only has Jolly Green Giant Gore as investor, backer and advocate (ie. lobbyist), its other top investors include major “bundlers” of millions of dollars of campaign donations for Obama. Coincidence abounds.

The car is a pipe dream. If it had legitimate marketplace potential, there’d be no need to...... READ MORE

Health bill nears Senate floor vote - Washington Times
By Jennifer Haberkorn

The Senate Finance Committee is on the verge of approving its long-awaited version of health reform in the coming days, awaiting only a cost estimate of its work by the Congressional Budget Office and a decision by Democratic leaders about what the shape of the bill will be on the Senate floor.

Wrapping up work at 2 a.m. Friday morning, the committee's majority Democrats managed to fend off significant changes to......

The World Wearies of the Narcissist-in-Chief

Obama and the "fantasy about global disarmament"
The World Wearies of the Narcissist-in-Chief
By Joy Tiz

“The beauty of being a narcissist is that even when disaster stares you in the face, you feel neither doubt nor remorse.” —Carl Vogel, A Field Guide to Narcissism

Politicians on both sides of the aisle are becoming perturbed about the president’s “I - ME” fixation - the manifest hubris of Obama. His opening line at the UN speech was “The world has great expectations of ME…” as though the force of his charisma is enough to tame maniacal despots - that his words are all we need – never mind that they are pure perfidy.

Obama is also causing angst among our allies. French President Nicolas Sarkozy is especially irked with him. On Greta van Susteren, Jack Kelly of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that... Read more.

THE FEAR OF THOUGHT

The Fear of Thought

By Robert Ringer

Last week I received a heart-warming e-mail from a reader that said, in part: “You are among the most insane voices in this insane world. … You should be crushed like the bug that you are … along with your cohorts, Beck, Hannity and Limbaugh — all reptilian bugs who will soon become obsolete as their silly, screaming, obnoxious voices become a whimper and die out while the wise, compassionate, and coherent voices of the left finally own their power. [RR note: If you like run-on sentences, try topping that one.] Please keep your poison to yourself!”

Hmm … no one’s ever called me a “reptilian bug” before, but it does have a nice ring to it. I’ve become somewhat immune to those who extol the virtues of progressivism but want to “crush” dissenting voices — preferably through the barrel of a gun.

I was at the 9/12 rally in Washington, and I can tell you that, trite as it may sound, the men and women there really were everyday folks — people you see at the supermarket, at work, or at ball games. They were angry, to be sure, but polite and civil almost to a fault. And an awful lot of them had signs indicating that they watch or listen to the likes of Beck, Hannity, and Limbaugh — those “silly, screaming, obnoxious voices.”

By contrast, what never ceases to amaze me is the anger and violence that are... MORE
